HUDSON – Richard Lanoue, the 57-year-old Hudson man who escaped serious injury in a single-vehicle crash but was subsequently arrested on DWI charges, is scheduled for a court appearance later this month.

Police said Lanoue was driving a 2004 Nissan pickup truck north on Cutler Road around 9 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle apparently left the road and crashed into a tree.

First responders found the driver, later identified as Lanoue, with minor injuries, for which he was treated on scene then transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua for additional treatment.

Police said their investigation showed that Lanoue, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was allegedly operating the vehicle while under the influence.

Lanoue, who was alone in the vehicle, was charged on the scene with one count each of DWI – second offense, and driving after suspension, police said.

He was later booked on the charges then released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, which is scheduled for Jan. 29 in Nashua district court.
