Combined Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots rising to nearly $700 million just in time for the holidays
CONCORD – New Hampshire Lottery players will have the chance to win the ultimate holiday present with dueling Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots expected to total nearly $700 million over the next two days. Without a winner in Tuesday’s drawing, the New Hampshire Lottery is expecting the New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot to climb to $352 million for the drawing on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25. Without a winner in Wednesday’s drawing, the New Hampshire Lottery is projecting Saturday’s Powerball jackpot will reach $341 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
The New Hampshire Lottery projects the Mega Millions one-time cash payout to increase to $269.7 million and the Powerball one-time cash payout to jump to $262.5 million.
“We know this is the season for giving but we are also hoping it is the season for winning–at least here in New Hampshire,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “We have seen the anticipation building with our players and retailers over the past few weeks as the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have continued to grow, now with almost $700 million combined up for grabs. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season than with two lucky New Hampshire winners. There is still plenty of time to get your tickets for these two drawings!”
Mega Millions drawing results from Tuesday, December 22, were: 29-53-56-59-67 MB-21 with a Megaplier of 2.
Powerball drawing results from Wednesday, December 23, were: 6-13-38-39-53 PB-6 with a Power Play of 3.
Both the Mega Millions and the Powerball jackpots have been growing since mid-September. Since then, both games have had 28 consecutive drawings without winners.
The largest Powerball jackpot on record was $1.586 billion in January 2016, which remains the world record lottery jackpot. The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history was a $1.537 billion jackpot in October 2018.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM.
Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM.
