NEWFIELDS – About two dozen people showed up Sunday at Gov. Chris Sununu’s home to protest his executive orders mandating masks and other pandemic-related restrictions.
While the protesters staged a peaceful, non-violent demonstration, their use of electronic equipment to amplify their voices eventually prompted at least one of Sununu’s neighbors to contact police.
Several state troopers arrived and spoke with the group, telling them to stop the loud noise or be summonsed for disorderly conduct.
They apparently complied, continuing the protest quietly.
Among those taking part were Joe Bodge and Dorene Heselton, owners of Roselynn Homemade Ice Cream in nearby Epping, who made news several months ago when, rather than force their employees to wear masks, they closed their shop.

The protesters, some of them representing groups such as Absolute Defiance and Health Freedom NH, stage the protests to express their belief that mask-wearing and other pandemic-related regulations should not be mandated by government.
