Sex-assault allegations lead to Nashua man’s arrest; awaiting arraignment
NASHUA – A police investigation that began in August into allegations of sexual assault against Nashua resident Rafael Moctezuma has culminated in his arrest, according to police.
Moctezuma, 43, of 2 Roedean Drive, Apt. 2, faces one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault, a special felony, and two counts of sexual assault, Class A misdemeanors.
He was booked on the charges and later released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, the date of which is to be determined, police said.
They said the investigation began Aug. 15, when the department received a report of a sexual assault.
Moctezuma is known to the alleged victim, police said. Members of the department’s Special Investigation Division, in furthering the investigation, developed Moctezuma as the suspect.
The alleged victim told police Moctezuma sexually assault him or her “during multiple encounters in 2019 and 2020,” police said.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody.
