Nashua roommates arrested after months-long police investigation

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Nov 24, 2020

Jason Spurlin, age 45, of 16A Whitney St., Nashua

NASHUA – Four months after they launched an investigation into two men they suspected were involved in the sale of illegal drugs, police last week took the men into custody within six minutes of each other, according to their reports.

The fact that Jason Spurlin, 45, and Kevin Burke, 32, share the same address – 16A Whitney St., in Nashua’s French Hill section – likely accounts for the fact only minutes separated their arrests.

Spurlin faces considerably more charges than does Burke, who was charged with two felony counts of criminal liability to sale of a controlled drug.

Spurlin’s charges include four counts of sale of a controlled drug, subsequent offense; four counts of possession of a controlled drug, subsequent offense; three counts of dealing in or possessing prescription drugs; and one count of possession with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, according to police.

Both men were arrested on warrants that members of the department’s Narcotics Intelligence Division issued during the course of their investigation, which began in August.

Police didn’t divulge much in the way of details regarding the investigation, saying only that the detectives issued the warrants “based upon information developed during this investigation.”

Spurlin and Burke were booked on the charges then transported to Valley Street jail to await arraignment, the dates of which are pending, police added.
