HUDSON – Police continue to investigate the Saturday evening crash that left Hudson resident Michel Rodier with serious injuries and forced the shutdown of a main road for several hours.

Rodier, 41, was driving north on Speare Road just before 5 p.m. when his 2013 Mazda CX-5 went off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree, police said.

Officers, firefighters and medical personnel arrived to find the vehicle up against the tree near the intersection of Speare Road and Kara’s Crossing Drive, which is about a mile south of Kimball Hill Road.

They went to assist the driver, later identified as Rodier, and due to the seriousness of his injuries elected to have him transported by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital for treatment, police said.

Officers closed a section of Speare Road for several hours, police said, to allow members of the department’s Accident Reconstruction Team to conduct their investigation.
