Merrimack woman arrested in connection with September crash

Kristin Ross, 33, of 26 McGaw Bridge Road, Merrimack

MERRIMACK – Police said the driver who allegedly crashed her vehicle into a large tree but was nowhere in sight when police arrived at the scene has turned herself in after learning a warrant had been issued for her arrest.

Kristin Ross, 33, of 26 McGaw Bridge Road, faces one misdemeanor count of conduct after an accident, which accuses her of leaving the scene of the crash, which occurred near 4 Meetinghouse Road in the early morning hours of Sept. 20, according to police.

When officers arrived they found the vehicle, a 2015 Missan Rogue, sitting next to the tree with extensive front-end damage – but nobody around.

Officers searched the immediate area but were “unable to locate a driver or any occupants,” police said.

But a subsequent vehicle registration search showed that Ross was the listed owner of the vehicle. When officers went to Ross’s residence to speak with her, they determined that she was the operator of the crashed Rogue, and that she allegedly “failed to properly report the crash,” police said.

A warrant was drawn up for Ross’s arrest on the single count of conduct after an accident, and she turned herself in after learning of the warrant, police added.

She was booked at police headquarters and later released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, which police said is scheduled for Dec. 7 at Merrimack district court.
