PELHAM – Police continue to investigate the circumstances of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle that has claimed the life of a 72-year-old local man.
David Perigny Sr. was rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua following the crash, which occurred the afternoon of Oct. 3 at the intersection of Mammoth and Keyes Hill roads.
Police said at the time Perigny had sustained life-threatening injuries, and that when officers arrived at the scene, he was receiving medical aid, including CPR.
The driver of the car was not injured, police said. While the investigation is ongoing, they don’t believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, and “no criminal charges are forthcoming at this point.”
Perigny, a native of Methuen, Massachusetts, attended Nashua schools and graduated from Nashua High School, according to his obituary.
He was a U.S. Marine who served in the Vietnam War, and worked as a welder with the Iron Workers Union of Boston for more than 33 years.
His survivors include his wife, Cheryl Perigny, a son, four step-children and two grand-children.
The family plans to hold a celebration of life next spring for family and friends.
They ask that contributions in memory of Perigny be made to the Nashua Salvation Army, 1 Montgomery Ave., Nashua, 03060.
