New Hampshire to increase rapid testing at community testing centers

By Staff | Sep 30, 2020

CONCORD – On Monday, it was announced that New Hampshire will receive a new shipment of Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid-Antigen COVID-19 tests that will allow the state to conduct an additional 25,000 rapid tests per week. The rapid tests will be made available at community testing centers across the state.

After the announcement, House Finance Chair Mary Jane Wallner (D-Concord) and Senate Finance Chair Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester), who both serve on the Governor’s Office for Economic Relief and Recovery (GOFERR) Legislative Advisory Board, released the following statement:

“For months now, we have heard about the challenges New Hampshire has faced in obtaining additional supplies to conduct rapid testing. These rapid tests are critical for the long term success of our state, particularly for schools needing to prepare for potential clusters and outbreaks of COVID-19. We thank Commissioner Shibinette for her work in obtaining these supplies and look forward to seeing their quick implementation.”
