Alleged lewd acts in bathroom at Greeley Park prompts arrest of Merrimack man, 71

Adrian Pike, 71, of 15 Essex Green Court, Merrimack

NASHUA – Upon their arrival at Greeley Park over the weekend, in response to calls reporting a man “pleasuring himself” in a public restroom, police officers were flagged down by three boys who directed them to the men’s restroom, according to police.

The first officer to enter the restroom said he “observed a male … within a closed stall … positioned in front of the crack in the stall door” and “easily visible,” his hand “motioning as if he were masturbating … (while) also making moaning noises,” the officer wrote in his report.

The officer ordered the man out of the stall, identified him as Adrian Pike, 71, of 15 Essex Green Court in Merrimack, and took him into custody on one count of indecent exposure and lewdness – subsequent offense, police said.

The charge is a subsequent offense, and therefore a Class B felony, based on Pike’s 2018 conviction in Nashua district court of a misdemeanor-level count of indecent exposure and lewdness, police said.

Pike was held overnight pending arraignment, at which he entered a plea of not guilty and was granted personal recognizance bail.

Conditions of bail prohibit Pike from having any contact with anyone under age 18, and order him to apply to Greater Nashua Mental Health Center for an intake assessment, according to the bail order.

His next scheduled appearance in court is for a dispositional conference on Nov. 24.

The three boys, meanwhile, told police they allegedly saw a man, later identified as Pike, standing shirtless in the stall and masturbating “in plain view,” due to the way Pike was allegedly positioned, police said.

He allegedly “made no attempt to stop” when the boys saw him, police added.

Following the booking procedure at police headquarters, Pike agreed to speak with detectives, and during the interview allegedly “admitted to masturbating within the public restroom at Greeley Park,” police said.
