Pepperell man escapes injury, but charged with DUI after Hollis rollover crash

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Sep 22, 2020

Hayden Wyld, 23, of Pepperell, Massachusetts

HOLLIS – A 23-year-old man from Pepperell, Massachusetts, apparently emerged unscathed over the weekend when the vehicle police say he was driving sideswiped two parked cars then rolled over and landed on its roof in the middle of West Hollis Road.

But Hayden Wyld, identified by police as the driver, was charged with three misdemeanor offenses, including driving while under the influence, after officers conducted a roadside investigation and, police said, determined that Wyld was allegedly impaired at the time of the crash.

Police said Wyld was traveling north on West Hollis Road, which is in the southwest part of town not far from the Massachusetts state line, when his vehicle veered to the right and struck the two parked cars before rolling over.

In addition to DUI, officers also charged Wyld with two counts of criminal mischief, which apparently stem from the alleged collision with the parked cars.

Police said Wyld was booked on the charges and later released pending an appearance in Nashua district court, the date of which is pending.

Police ask that anyone with any additional information regarding the crash contact Hollis police Officer Derek Gyles at 465-7637.
