Manchester police investigating multiple shootings.

By Staff | Aug 10, 2020

Manchester Police are investigating multiple shooting incidents in several areas of Manchester, and a Friday night S.W.A.T. incident.

Manchester Police were on scene on Somerville Street on the Eastside for an incident that MPD said started with a domestic incident. The male ran into the house and refused to come out, and remained in a standoff with police for several hours. The incident was resolved with the arrest of a 22-year-old man.

On Saturday August 8, 2020 at 1:30 am MPD responded to multiple shots fired on Lowell Street in downtown Manchester.

After speaking to witnesses and a short investigation officers located damage from several bullets that struck Buba Noodle, at the corner of Lowell St and Kosciuszko St.

No people were struck in the shooting, but the investigation showed several places the restaurant was struck.

The restaurant is in the same area as the Red Arrow Diner which had a shooting occur in December, 2019. In that shooting two people were injured, and arrests were made. Many people shared on social media that the Red Arrow also was involved in Saturday’s shooting, however that does not appear to be credible information.

Saturday August 8, 2020 at 9:54 MPD responded to the area of Pine and Willow Street for a report of shots fired. MPD said that when they arrived they learned a 49 year-old man allegedly fired multiple shots. MPD said in a press release that the incident started in a neighbor dispute and escalated when the man entered his apartment and retrieved a gun.

James Ferguson, 49 of Manchester was arrestedin the Pine Street incident and faces several felony charges.

Sunday afternoon a MPD police cruiser and one officer remained in front of the Pine Street address. There was no other activity when we visited the scene,

Sunday August 9, 2020 at 12:17 am MPD responded to the report of shots fired in the area of Somerville and Lincoln according to MPD Sgt Jamie Gallant.

MPD Sgt Gallant said when officers arrived in the area they located multiple shell casings. There were no reported injuries to anyone in the area.

Sunday afternoon Somerville Street was closed between Lincoln and Wilson Street as detectives gathered evidence in the shooting.

MPD detectives placed several evidence markers at an address on Somerville Street. The evidence markers were pointing to what appeared to be damage from bullets. The wall in front of the house, and the foundation of the house had several evidence markers which were being photographed.

In speaking to neighbors, and viewing the MPD dispatch log, the house struck is the same house which was involved in Friday’s S.W.A.T incident.

Manchester Police continue to investigate all the incidents. MPD asks that if anyone has information the call Manchester Police at 603.668.8711 or use the anonymous Crime Line which they can call at 603.624-4040
