Eight arrested in connection with internet exploitation of children activities

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Jul 17, 2020

NASHUA – Eight men, five from Nashua, were taken into custody this week, the result of an investigation that focused on “the large number of cases regarding child exploitation via the internet during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to Nashua police Lt. Matthew DiFava.

The charges, DiFava said, include the possession, distribution and manufacture of child sexual abuse images, and allegations of indecent exposure and lewdness.

Working with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, of which Nashua Police Department is an affiliate, members of the department’s Special Investigations Division and its Computer Forensics Unit issued and executed eight search warrants that led to the men’s arrests, DiFava said.

In addition to ICAC representatives, members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office, the State Police Special Investigations Unit, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcementís Homeland Security Investigations unit worked with Nashua police in conducting the operation.

Police urge anyone with any additional information regarding these cases, or anyone who would like to anonymously report cases of child exploitation, to call the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
