AMHERST – Interware Development Co., Inc.’s product, EB2Gov, makes online payments simple, and now that the company’s fees are being waived, the service is that much simpler in an effort to help battle the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Interware Development is based in Amherst and has been operating in the state for 25 years, becoming a leading provider of municipal payment services.

The company is waiving EB2Gov fees to encourage people to do their municipal business online, reducing the traffic and human interaction at town and city offices across the state. There are about 150 towns and cities across New Hampshire that utilize the company’s services and products, including Nashua and Merrimack.

“We’ve actually noticed a huge uptick in our online presence because all of these municipal facilities are closed,” marketing strategist Ali Maynard said. “They’re pushing everything online, so a lot of the towns and cities are only open by appointment at this point, so they’re processing a lot of those online payments online…”

This reduced fee initiative was implemented on March 14 and will run through April 3, although officials are reevaluating the end date as the COVID-19 crisis continues. A message on the EB2Gov website (eb2gov.com) will be updated if that decision is made

Maynard said the company is waiving its transaction fee, not the fees of their partners. There are fees with the credit card processing companies that Interware cannot waive. Fees associated with a citizen’s selected payment type, including credit card and ACH fees, cannot be waived.

Different types of transactions a person can request online include motor vehicle registration renewal, dog license renewal, utility bill payment and more. Additional Information on Interware can be found online at, https://www.interwaredev.com/.
