There have been two potential community exposures of the coronavirus – one at Honey Dew Donuts, Season’s Corner Market in Salem on March 17, 18 and 19, and the other at an event in the Coe-Brown Academy gym in Northwood on March 14, officials said Thursday night.

The state Department of Health and Human Services also said 21 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed overnight, bringing the total to 158 in New Hampshire.

The state previously announced one death in the Granite State, an elderly man in Hillsborough County.

The potential community exposure at Honey Dew Donuts, Season’s Corner Market, 501 South Broadway in Salem, occurred on the following dates and times:

• Tuesday March 17, 5-6 a.m.

• Wednesday March 18, 5-10 a.m.

• Thursday March 19, 5-7:30 a.m.

Any individuals who visited the Honey Dew Donuts during those times may have been potentially exposed to the virus and should observe their health for fever or respiratory illness, according to a state Department of Health and Human Services news release.

Any person who visited the facility and develops symptoms should stay away from other people, and immediately contact their healthcare provider.

The state also determined that a person with COVID-19 attended an event that began at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, in the Gerrish Gym at Coe-Brown Academy, 907 1st New Hampshire Turnpike in Northwood.

Anyone who attended that event in the Gerrish Gym at Coe-Brown Academy may have been exposed and should also observe their health for fever or respiratory illness. Anyone who was in the Gerrish Gym during the event and develops symptoms should stay away from other people, and immediately contact their healthcare provider.

The risk of exposure applies only to the Gerrish Gym during the event at 7 p.m., and not to attendance at the school or at other school activities, the release said.
