Gunfire leads to arrest
Emily Leduc
NASHUA – Nobody was hurt and nothing was damaged, but a Nashua woman is facing a felony charge of reckless conduct for allegedly firing a gun into the air during a disturbance over the weekend, according to police.
Emily Leduc, 26, of 104 Pine St., Apt. 2, was booked on the charge and later released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, which is scheduled for March 19 in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
Police said officers arrested Leduc Monday afternoon, following the investigation that began early Saturday morning when officers responded to what police described as a “disturbance involving a large group” in the area of 104 Pine St.
While police said the group dispersed upon the officers’ arrival, they were able to locate evidence in the area “indicating that a firearm was discharged,” according to the reports.
Detectives furthered the investigation, police said, and soon identified Leduc as “the individual responsible for discharging a single round from a firearm into the air during the disturbance.”
Police notified Leduc that a warrant had been issued for her arrest, at which time she turned herself in “without incident,” police said.
They said they recovered the firearm “believed to be involved,” but they didn’t describe the type or caliber of the firearm.
Police ask that anyone with any additional information on the incident to contact the department at 594-3500, or report information anonymously on its Crime Line at 589-1665.
