After a nice break for Scouts and families to enjoy the holidays Cub Scout Pack 425 prepares for a full schedule of great activates! Blue and Gold banquet, pinewood derby races, Winter Carnival, Webelos Alley, and of course our regular Den and Pack meetings! You wouldn’t think we should focus on this one event while there’s still snow on the ground but the biggest trip that the Pack participates in is a week at Cub Scout summer camp at the nationally accredited Camp Carpenter Cub World. Dedicated members of the camp staff joined us at our January Pack meeting to tell us about all the great things that will happen at camp this year. Scouts are working on fund raisers to help pay for the big event so if you see a Cub Scout selling popcorn or Adventure cards please pitch in if you can, they are all very high quality products and they will help a Scout with camp fees!
Camp Carpenter Cub World is located in Manchester, just a short drive from home. The summer camp programs are fully staffed by trained professionals. The number one priority of camp (and all of Scouting) is always the safety of the youth. Tents and meals for the campers are provided but that’s only the beginning! They also provide days and nights packed with very exciting, fun, and Scout appropriate programs including: a real fort, Pirate Cove, BB and archery ranges, sports, handicraft, nature, S.T.E.M., emergency preparedness, Native American village, marble madness, Whittling Chip, conservation projects, life size games, and W.A.R.M. (that stands for water-slide, arcade, rock throwing, mini golf). There are many different camp opportunities offered through the summer including day camp, residence camp (a week with the Pack), family camp, Akela camp (parent and child). There is a program for any child that will be in Kindergarten to grade 5 in Sept. 2020. If that describes your child please contact us right away so we can help you get started, early planning is vital but it’s worth it!
About Pack 425: Pack 425 has room to serve a few more families! We meet at Nashua Fish and Game clubhouse, 21 Al Paul Lane, Merrimack on most Tuesday nights. Why not “Scout me in”! To join Cub Scouts a child needs to be a boy or girl in kindergarten through grade 5 and looking for fun and excitement in a family oriented program that will help develop character citizenship, and fitness. Our founder said: “Scouting is a game with a purpose”. Check our website at: www.pack425Nashua.org or contact Kathy Crosby for more details at: kcrosby551@gmail.com.
