Banner project honoring Nashua Vietnam War casualties reaches goal; pictures still sought

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Feb 3, 2020

NASHUA – Kurt Cameron, the Vietnam veteran involved in raising funds and locating relatives of Nashua’s 18 Vietnam War casualties, said Sunday that the fund-raising goal has been met.

“Mission accomplished,” Cameron said as donations hit $3,000, the goal he set when he launched the fundraising campaign in mid-January.

Now that the goal has been reached, Cameron is focusing on trying to locate any members of the 18 Nashua servicemen’s families, especially those who may have photos of the men.

The plan is to scan the photos onto the banners honoring each serviceman, which will be installed along the Broad Street Parkway in time for Memorial Day.

Any relatives or others close to one or more of the servicemen, especially those who have photos, can contact Cameron at 913-3860 between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. or at cmkurtdeb@comcast.net.
