Felony charges for allegedly damaging a car

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Jan 11, 2020

NASHUA – Two Nashua women, ages 20 and 19, are due back in court later this month after their arrests this week on charges accusing them of scratching a vehicle then “covering it in paint,” police said.

Alexis Geddes, 20, of 32 Blossom St., was arrested Tuesday, and Destiny Velazquez, 19, of 88 Bowers St., was arrested Wednesday, according to police.

They each face one count of criminal mischief, which are Class B felonies because the damage to the vehicle was in excess of $1,500, police said.

Both were booked at police headquarters and later released on personal recognizance bail, police said. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South, Geddes on Jan. 16 and Velazquez on Jan. 23.

Police didn’t detail the circumstances of the alleged incident, such as a motive, or whether the car was specifically targeted or was allegedly chosen at random.

They did say that officers were called to the area of Bowers Street on Nov. 25 to check on a report of damage to a motor vehicle.

Upon investigating the matter, police eventually identified Geddes and Velazquez as allegedly “being responsible for scratching the vehicle and covering it in paint,” police said.

Police ask that anyone who may have additional information on the incident to contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
