NASHUA – A Wednesday evening fire at the Royal Crest Apartments in Nashua left families displaced by the fire and water damage that impacted six apartments.

A three-story multifamily apartment building located at 18 Royal Crest Drive had smoke showing from the attic when firefighters arrived at the scene sometime around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Crews were able to extinguish the bulk of the flames within 20 minutes from dispatch, while the incident was fully under control a short time later. All searches of the building for any occupants left inside were complete, while the fire was extinguished within 40 minutes from the time of dispatch.

Officials were able to extinguish the blaze just as it had started extending into the attic space above the main room of fire, which was located on the third floor.

Additionally, the American Red Cross was called upon to assist the families displaced, which affected six apartments as a result of the fire and water damage. Members of the Nashua Police and Building departments also responded to provide assistance at the scene. There were no injuries to occupants or emergency personnel in this incident. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s office. Officials were still out working at the scene on Thursday.
