NASHUA – With the holidays fast approaching, officials with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua are hoping to inspire the spirit of giving ahead of their 33rd Annual Bids for Kids Holiday Auction.

The event is Dec. 7 at Sky Meadow County Club. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., while dinner is at 6:45 p.m. and the live auction is at 7:30 p.m.

Though attendees have the added opportunity to bid on exclusive live auctions during the event, the club has expanded the level of support by making silent auction items accessible to anyone interested in bidding through the event website at https://bgcn.ejoinme.org/bidsforkids.

Individuals are also able enter the Golden Ticket Raffle in which only 100 tickets will be sold for $100 each. The golden ticket winner will take home their choice of one of five live auction items. Both Auction attendees and those who are unable to make the event can show their commitment to the club as silent bidders and ticket holders who do not have to be present to win.

As the club’s major fundraising event of the year, the Bids for Kids Holiday Auction is essential to providing hundreds of programs and services to the 3,000 members who pay a nominal $35 annual membership fee. Throughout the year, members ages 8-18 are provided with free daily snacks and meals, free transportation, the guidance of caring adult mentors, and access to a multitude of academic, cultural arts, athletic and leadership programs tailored to developing the passions and interests of the kids who take part.

“We really depend on the generosity of others to help provide everything our members need to be successful,” club CEO Norman Bouthilette said. “This year, the need is greater than ever before. We encourage anyone interested in meeting our kids’ needs to join in the holiday cheer of our Bids for Kids Holiday Auction whether as an attendee or as an online bidder or golden ticket holder.”

The auction is expected to draw more than 300 people in support of the club, including local business owners who have demonstrated their commitment to the club by becoming event sponsors.

Platinum, Diamond, and Gold level sponsors include A Friend of the Boys & Girls Club, Northpoint Construction Management, Triangle Credit Union, Lovering Volvo, BAE Systems, Beth & Brad Kreick, Hannaford Supermarkets, and Main Street Private Wealth Management.

Steve Travaglini is president of Epic Wealth Strategies, vice president of the club’s board of directors and chair of the Bids for Kids Holiday Auction. He boasted the importance of supporting the club’s year-end holiday event.

“The auction was one of the things that really drew me to the club,” Travaglini said. “Hearing the stories from kids about how the club changed their life showed the immediate impact the club can make on a child’s life. It’s amazing to realize the role the club plays in these members’ lives. I hope everyone takes the opportunity to make an impact through their support of the auction. Thank you to our amazing committee members including my co-chair Mimi Thomas, our board President Mary Jane King, and everyone else who works to make this event possible.”

Anyone interested in sponsoring, attending or volunteering at the event should contact Assistant Development Director Ashley Fudala at 603-883-0523, ext. 228, or afudala@bgcn.com.
