Members of the Nashua Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps compete during the Saturday drill competition at Salem High School.
The Nashua students competed with those from other high schools, such as Alvirne, Spaulding, Salem and Pinkerton.
Since it was their first competition, Sgt. Nicholas Ellis, the program’s instructor, decided to have the cadets compete in four of 10 categories. They placed first in Unarmed Regulation and third in Color Guard. Rebecca Wilkie, a freshman cadet from Nashua High School South, placed first in the New Cadet/IDR (Infantry Drill Regulation) competition.
The next drill competition is scheduled for 8:25 a.m. Dec. 14 at Alvirne High School in Hudson.
