Telegraph challenges community to ‘Fill the Lobby’

By Staff | Nov 17, 2019

NASHUA – In conjunction with The Telegraph’s annual Santa Fund, the newspaper is challenging community members to “Fill the Lobby.”

The Fill the Lobby initiative aims to not only gain donations of toys and other items for the Santa Fund, but its goal also is to collect non-perishable food items to distribute to local food pantries in need of goods for the holiday season.

“The Santa Fund is an amazing program that helps local families provide toys and clothing items to local families in need,” said Telegraph Editor in Chief Matthew Burdette.

“We also don’t want to forget about those who are in need of food – not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year.”

“That’s why, this year, we challenge the community to fill our lobby with not only toys and clothing for the Santa Fund, but also to fill the lobby with food that we can then distribute to our many amazing local food pantries,” Burdette added. “Our Main Street office is centrally located and an easy stop for many on their way to and from work. We hope to accumulate at least 2,500 pounds of canned and other non-perishable food items that we can then take to our friends at the food pantries.”

The Telegraph will accept these item during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the newspaper’s downtown office, 110 Main St. Suite 1. Special arrangements can be made for after-hours and weekend drop-offs.

The newspaper will have extended hours during its Wild Wednesday promotion on Nov. 27, on Plaid Friday on Nov. 28 and during the annual Holiday Stroll on Nov. 30.

Donors who wish to have their names published may, and a list of food donors will be published in each Monday’s edition through Christmas.
