Luk’s Bar to host fundraiser

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Nov 12, 2019

HUDSON – As the team of volunteers behind The Jenny Fund gears up for December’s third annual “fun’raiser,” the owners of a new Hudson restaurant called Luk’s Bar & Grill are joining the cause with a week-long fundraiser next week.

Chris Normandin, an owner of Luk’s, which is in the process of opening at the former location of Town Tavern in the Nottingham Square plaza at 142 Lowell Road, said Luk’s will be donating to The Jenny Fund a percentage of all restaurant and bar purchases for an entire week, beginning on Monday.

Raffles, daily and weekly drawings and “price-matching” will also take place during the week.

More details, and updates on events, can be found on the Luks Bar & Grill Facebook page.

Next up will be the third annual Jenny Fund Fun’raiser, a night of dinner, beverages, live music, silent and live auctions, raffles and games, along with a guest speaker.

It will take place from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 7 in The Bounty Lounge at the Nashua Holiday Inn, 9 Northeastern Boulevard.

More details and ticket information is available at www.thejennyfund.org.

Members of the extended Gureckis family and others who were close to Jen Gureckis organized the fund shortly after the 28-year-old Nashua native passed in April 2017.

The focus of the fund, according to its mission statement, is to “provide support to the Massachusetts General Hospital Translational Brain Tumor Research Laboratory,” which is led by Jen’s surgeon, Dr. William Curry.
