Overnight Nashua standoff ends with police shooting man

NASHUA – Officials with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating after an approximately six-hour standoff on Nashua’s Hunt Street ended with police shooting a man who had reportedly barricaded himself inside his home.

Nashua officers responded to the Hunt Street home at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a complaint of criminal threatening. At some point, the suspect allegedly barricaded himself inside the home.

The standoff concluded at approximately 4:30 a.m. today after police shot the suspect. The suspect is currently undergoing medical treatment for his unspecified injuries.

The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit is investigating the incident.

Authorities said no officers or private residents were physically injured during the incident, while there is no threat to the public.

Pursuant to protocol, authorities said they will not name the officers involved until they are formally interviewed.
