Man allegedly punches woman twice and throws pasta on her

NASHUA – When she received a text message from Hudson resident Jonathan Moore on Wednesday morning informing her he was ending their three-month relationship, the woman drove to Moore’s home several hours later to talk with him, according to police reports.

The woman told Moore she didn’t want the relationship to end, which, the reports state, “aggravated Moore.” When she went to give Moore a hug, according to the reports, Moore allegedly “went into a boxing stance and punched her” twice in the ribs.

He then allegedly “grabbed (the woman’s) upper body and threw her into the back of a couch, causing her to flip over the couch,” police reported.

When the woman got up, Moore allegedly forced her face down on the floor, climbed on top of her and allegedly “wrapped both of his hands around her neck,” making it “extremely difficult” for her to breathe, according to the reports.

The woman told police that when she got up off the floor, Moore allegedly “threw pasta in her face, rubbed more pasta on her face, then spit in her face and said he hated her,” the reports state.

At that point, the woman told police, she left Moore’s residence. A couple of hours later, she arrived at Hudson police headquarters to report the alleged assaults.

Just before 1 a.m. Thursday, about an hour and a half after the woman reported the allegations, police located Moore and took him into custody.

He was held overnight in jail, and on Thursday entered not guilty pleas to the charges and waived formal arraignment.

By agreement of the prosecutor and the lawyer representing Moore, he was ordered returned to jail and held without bail. The agreement states Moore reserves the right to have a hearing to argue his bail when he is arraigned on the charge of probation violation.

Besides the probation violation, Moore is facing 10 charges stemming from the alleged assaults, one of which, second-degree assault – strangulation, is a felony.

The other nine are Class A misdemeanor charges of domestic violence – simple assault, which accuse Moore of punching the woman, hitting her in the face, causing a black eye; pushing her and causing her to fall, picking her up and throwing her over a couch, forcibly taking her to the ground, throwing and rubbing food in her face and spitting on her face.

According to the police affidavit, two of the misdemeanor charges stem from an incident two or three days earlier, when Moore, apparently angered that the woman “grabbed a phone charger without asking him,” allegedly pushed her to the ground and hitting her in the face, causing the black eye.

When speaking with police, the woman complained of head and neck pain, as well as pain under her ribcage, prompting officers to summon and ambulance.

Medical personnel evaluated the woman’s injuries, but she declined transport to a hospital.
