Young man killed in Bedford crash

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Aug 20, 2019

BEDFORD – Family members and friends of the three Merrimack residents involved in Saturday’s single-vehicle crash in Bedford continue to mourn the loss of 21-year-old Christopher Lamoureaux, while also praying for his close friend, Tyler Ploss, who remains in critical condition at a Boston hospital.

Lamoureux, described by his family as someone who “didn’t know the word ‘no,’ … anything anyone needed, his answer was always ‘yes,’ was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday on Back River Road near Meadowcrest Drive.

The 1998 Honda Accord, driven by Ashlyn Toursie, 22, reportedly left the road, struck a large tree and came to rest several feet away from the tree.

Toursie, described in Lamoureux’s obituary as his girlfriend, sustained minor injuries, and was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester for treatment, police said.

Meanwhile, Ploss, 21, was initially taken to the Elliot, and later transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital.

He sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, police said. As of Monday, he remained in critical, but stable, condition.

Police haven’t released any information regarding the circumstances that led to the crash, nor have they indicated whether any charges may be filed.

They did say the investigation is continuing.
