Family fun tapped at Brewfest

By Mathew Plamondon - Staff Writer | Aug 18, 2019

NASHUA — Those who came out for seventh annual Gate City Brewfest were able to enjoy every aspect of the festivities packed into Holman Stadium on Saturday, as the event catered to all ages in an effort to raise money for local charities.

The city of Nashua and Bellavance Beverage, a Hooksett-based brewing company, teamed with breweries throughout the area, including The Flight Center, Liquid Therapy, Anheuser-Busch, Able Ebenezer and many others to pour beers for the thirsty event attendees who made their way from one vendor to the next in search of their favorite brew.

While there were plenty of drinks to be consumed, there were equally as many batches of chicken wings. Bertucci’s, Burtons, Margaritas, Not Your Average Joe’s, The Flight Center and Thirsty Moose Merrimack competed to see who had the best wings.

With music provided throughout the day by David Corson and Visiting Wine, there was plenty of music to go with the beer and wings, keeping the masses on their feet and entertained.

Children were able to enjoy the event as well with games and activities, including a large team parachute, bounce houses, face painting, and bubbles, to go along with treats such as ice cream and snow cones, as well as kid-friendly drinks.

With the proceeds of the event going toward local charities and nonprofits, including the Nashua Police Athletic League, those who paid to experience the in wings and beers from the area also helped to contribute to the community.
