Eversource donates $38K to United Way
NASHUA — Eversource Energy made a generous donation of $38,000 to the United Way of Greater Nashua’s annual campaign last week.
This is in addition to donations made by Eversource employees and individuals as part of their workplace campaign.
“We are so proud of our partnership with Eversource,” United Way President Mike Apfelberg said. “As a company, they do what many other companies do not — namely, walk the walk.”
Eversource community relations specialist Elizabeth LaRocca presented the check to Apfelberg at the United Way’s Nashua office, located at 20 Broad St.
“The thing I admire most about the United Way of Greater Nashua is their far-reaching positive impact in the community,” LaRocca said. “Their small but powerful team has successfully attracted a large and diverse volunteer force to help assess the needs of the communities they serve and to connect our neighbors to the programs and services that will help them to thrive.”
Apfelberg spoke of the dedication of Eversource’s employees.
“We have teams of Eversource employees volunteer at our Annual Days of Caring,” he said. “We have Eversource employees volunteering on our community assessment and investment panels. Their employees give generously through their payroll to support our community.”
LaRocca added, “We believe that the health of our communities is driven by people who are dedicated to making life better for those in need like the team of staff and volunteers at United Way of Greater Nashua.”
“This represents an investment in the strong network of community partners which United Way is allied with to foster a better, stronger, safer, healthier, and happier place for the people of Greater Nashua to live and work,” Apfelberg added. “We could not be more pleased and proud to call Eversource and its employees a partner of United Way. You know, we have this saying that, ‘Great things happen we live United,’ and I think Eversource has really taken that to heart to make a difference in our community.”
