Selectmen proclaim Lyndeborough a Purple Heart town
LYNDEBOROUGH – The Board of Selectmen formally proclaimed Lyndeborough a Purple Heart Town at a ceremony held prior to the regular meeting of the board on July 3. Marie Grella of Amherst, who had proposed the designation, was joined by Purple Heart recipient Paul Martin and two other veterans at the short ceremony.
The selectmen said Aug. 7, the national Purple Heart Day, would be observed annually.
Signs proclaiming the designation will be installed at the town lines on Route 31 and Center Road.
