NASHUA – Nicholas Ramalho and Melanie Blackwood face several charges related to their alleged heist of more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from the Target department store on Amherst Street.

On April 1, store officials reported that someone stole a large quantity of merchandise from the store a few days earlier. Upon investigation, officials identified Ramalho, 22 of Manchester, as the suspect.

Officers arrested Ramalho at the store on April 5 while he was allegedly trying to steal more items. Ramalho was charged with two felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. He was also arrested on an outstanding theft-related warrant that had been issued by the Keene Police Department.

Nashua detectives then furthered this investigation. They eventually identified Blackwood, 28, of Auburn, as having allegedly acted with Ramalho by serving as his getaway driver while committing his alleged offenses.

Officers arrested Blackwood on Wednesday. She faces two felony charges of criminal liability for conduct of another, as well as another felony for unauthorized taking or transfer.

Each felony is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, exclusive of fines.

Ramalho was released on $500 cash bail, pending his April 25 arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South. Blackwood was released on her own personal recognizance, pending her May 2 arraignment in the same court.
