STEMfest Collaboration set for Oct. 20

Students in grades four through eight from Jaffrey Rindge Middle School, Great Brook Middle School and South Meadow School are invited to join in on the Third annual STEMfest Collaboration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at South Meadow School in Peterborough.

The event – which is being put on by South Meadow School and the Univesity of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences – is free for students who sign up in the school office. Space is limited to the first 100 students, and a free lunch will be served.

The event is sponsored by Monadnock Paper Mills and manufacturingstories.com.

Students must have parent permission slips and medical forms filled out the day of the event.

SCHEDULE

9:30 a.m.: Buses depart JR and GBS schools.

9:45 a.m.: SMS students and parents arrive.

10 a.m.: Welcome pep rally at SMS gym.

10:15 a.m.: Activity 1 in classrooms.

11:15 a.m.: Activity 2 in classrooms.

12:15 p.m.: Lunch, pizza and water.

1 p.m.: Activity 3 in classrooms.

2 p.m.: SMS students pick up from gym; JR&GBS students bus leaves for SMS.

2:15 p.m.: JR&GBS parents pick up from buses.
