Indictments handed down on child pornography charges

NASHUA – A Westhill Drive man is facing several felony indictments for possession child pornography.

Robert Catanzano Jr., 56, of 5 Westhill Drive, was indicted this week by the grand jury convened in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua. The grand jury handed up 10 indictment charging Catanzano with possession of child sexual abuse images.

Police arrested Catanzano in February during a pre-dawn raid on his home to execute a search warrant. He was initially charged with five counts of possession of child sex abuse images.

Catanzan faces seven and a half to 15 years in state prison if convicted on one count.

He was arrested on Feb. 2, one day after another Nashua man was brought in on similar charges.

The Nashua Police Department’s Special Investigations Division executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Patrol Division, the Computer Forensic Unit and Homeland Security Investigation, at the homes of Robert Hopkins, 55, of 7 Newcastle Drive, Apt. 3, on the morning of Feb. 1.

Police reportedly found evidence to be able to bring five felony count of possession of child pornography against Hopkins. The next day the same team raided Catanzano’s home.
