Man arrested on eight charges in domestic violence incident
MERRIMACK – A Merrimack man was arrested Saturday night for several domestic violence charges, police said.
A woman arrived at the police station Saturday night to report a domestic assault that had allegedly taken place earlier that evening, according to court documents.
Jacob Patenaude, 21, allegedly pushed, slapped, kicked and choked the victim twice and “restricted their breathing for a short time,” causing her to “fear for her life,” according to court documents. Patenaude also allegedly took her cellphone to keep her from calling the police and prevented her leaving the residence.
Patenaude’s grandmother allegedly came home and ended the fight, after which the victim left the residence and started walking. On her way, she was allegedly picked up by her friend, who drove her to the police station.
Patenaude was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, four counts of domestic violence-assault, false imprisonment and obstructing the report of a crime.
He is not to go within 300 feet of the victim, according to court documents.
His original bail was set at $10,000 cash and was modified to $500 cash upon arraignment Monday at Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.
