Hudson woman arrested after car strikes Fairpoint shed

HUDSON – A 47-year-old Hudson woman held without bail since her arrest Saturday night on charges stemming from an accident in a condominium development of Kimball Hill Road was scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning in Nashua district court.

Police said Carlene Maroun, 47, whose most recent address is 14 Hedgerow Drive, was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday after police were called to Shadowbrook Road, in the Shepherds Hill condo complex, for a report of a single-vehicle accident.

Arriving officers determined that a 2006 Mercedes E-Class vehicle, which they said Maroun was operating, had left the road and crashed into a utility shed owned by Fairpoint Communications.

Police said Maroun was alone in the vehicle and was uninjured. Officers subsequently arrested Maroun for driving while intoxicated, as well as driving with a suspended license and two counts of assaulting a police officer, police said.

Maroun’s license had been suspended for a previous charge of implied consent, a charge that stems from the refusal to submit to sobriety testing.

Police said the officer Maroun allegedly assaulted suffered no injuries.

Maroun was subsequently taken to Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester pending Monday’s scheduled arraignment.

Police said Fairpoint’s shed sustained significant damage in the accident, and that repairs may cause brief disruptions in telephone or internet service in the area.
