HUDSON – Students were bused away from Nottingham West Elementary School in Hudson Wednesday morning after a gas odor was detected at the school.

Hudson police advised parents shortly before 10 a.m. that the school was being evacuated. In announcement posted on Facebook, police said students were being transported to the Alvirne High School gymnasium while Hudson firefighters evaluated the situation at Nottingham West, located at 10 Pelham Road.

Police said the evacuation was a precautionary measure.
