Animal Rescue League of NH in Bedford places ‘lucky kittens’ up for adoption

By Staff | Nov 9, 2013

BEDFORD – The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire has placed three “lucky kittens” up for adoption at its Bedford headquarters.

All three are considered lucky because they were rescued near their deceased mothers, who were likely killed when struck by cars.

The kittens, two of which are siblings who were rescued together, were found in Bedford by passers-by who heard the felines crying.

After short stints with foster parents, the kittens will be up for adoption Saturday at the league at 545 Route 101.

One of the orphaned kittens, Shamrock, was found a day after a good Samaritan heard cries in the woods and failed to locate the source. The next day, the person returned to the spot to find Shamrock, covered in fleas, and sitting next his mother.

Shamrock was treated for the fleas, and also has been altered.

“Sadly, these are just two of the rescue stories and situations that come through the door almost daily,” according to a statement from the Animal Rescue League.
