Hollis man charged with punching, choking woman
Hollis police arrested a man Tuesday morning who they said woke up his girlfriend by punching and choking her.
Police were called to a River Road home around midnight Tuesday for a report of domestic assault. A woman said she had been woken up by Andrew Bizier, 37, of Hollis, who then – for no discernible reason – began assaulting her, police said.
The woman said Bizier punched her in the head several times causing a head injury, and choked her, police said.
Police issued a be-on-the-lookout order and an arrest warrant for Bizier, who turned himself in to police shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Bizier is charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and misdemeanor simple assault. He was released on $20,000 cash or surety bail and will be arraigned at Nashua district court on Sept. 18, police said.
