Hudson pharmacy tech arrested for theft, sale of drugs
CONCORD – A pharmacy technician from Hudson has had her privileges suspended in the wake of her June 12 arrest on multiple drug-related offenses, the attorney general’s office said Monday.
The N.H. Board of Pharmacy issued Jessica Duda, 34, an order of emergency suspension late last week, officials said. The order prohibits Duda, who was fired from her job at a Londonderry pharmacy the same day she was arrested, from working as a pharmacy technician in New Hampshire.
A hearing on the matter is scheduled for July 3, at which time the board will determine whether Duda’s privileges will remain suspended during the investigation into the charges against her, officials said.
The board didn’t specify where in Londonderry Duda had been working, but online sources indicate she worked at a CVS pharmacy.
According to the attorney general’s office and the pharmacy board, Duda was terminated from her job on June 12 after acknowledging she stole between 100-150 tablets of the narcotic painkiller Hydrocodone on about 10 occasions,
beginning in late April.
Duda admitted that she was selling the stolen drugs to friends, according to the board’s suspension order.
Londonderry police arrested Duda later on June 12, charging her with one count each of possession of a controlled narcotic drug; possession of a controlled narcotic drug with intent to distribute; theft from a building; and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle.
The three possession charges are felonies, while the theft charge is a Class A misdemeanor, officials said.
“Based on the … information, the board finds that the case involves imminent danger to life and/or health,” board officials wrote in the order. They said the board will determine at the hearing whether Duda’s offenses warrant a continued temporary suspension of her privileges or “the imposition of permanent disciplinary sanctions, or both.”
The board has appointed Vahrij Manoukian to preside over Duda’s hearing, according to the order. It also lists the prosecutor as assistant Attorney General Matthew Mavrogeorge.
