All public schools in the area will be closed from Monday, Dec. 24, through Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Other closings of government facilities during the holidays include:

NASHUA

Curbside trash pickup will operate normally on Mondays, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. It will not occur on Tuesdays, Dec. 25 or Jan. 1, and pickup the remainder of both those weeks will be delayed by one day, with Tuesday routes picked up on Wednesday and so on, through Saturday.

During the week between Christmas and New Year’s, extra holiday trash will be picked up; it must be in bags or barrels and at least three feet from the trash carts. This does not include “bulky trash or household cleanups.” A reminder: cardboard and most wrapping paper can be recycled, but foil wrapping paper cannot be recycled.

Weather permitting, Christmas trees will be picked up curbside starting Monday, Jan. 7.

Nashua City Hall is closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and on New Year’s Day.

Nashua Public Library is closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It closes early, at 3 p.m., on New Year’s Eve and is closed New Year’s Day.

AMHERST

The town clerk’s office will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. The clerk will be open for regular hours on Dec. 31 and be closed on Jan. 1.

The Amherst Library will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25. Regular hours resume Wednesday, Dec. 26. The library will also be closed at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31 and on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

The Amherst Transfer Station is closed on Mondays throughout the year and will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

BROOKLINE

Town offices are open 8 a.m.-noon Dec. 24, and open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 31. Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Brookline Library will be open 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 31.

HOLLIS

Town Hall, the town clerk’s office and the Hollis Social Library will be closed Dec. 24. Town Hall will be open 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. Dec. 31; no town clerk evening hours. Library closes at 5 p.m. Dec. 31. All offices closed, including the transfer station, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

HUDSON

Town Hall will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Curbside garbage pickup will not happen on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. Pickup will be delayed by one day the remainder of both weeks.

LYNDEBOROUGH

The selectmen’s office is closed on Dec. 24 but the town clerk/tax collector’s office is open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Dec. 24. All offices are closed on Dec. 25.

On Dec. 31 town offices are closing at 2 p.m.

The recycling center is closed on Mondays and will be closed on Christmas and New Years Day.

MERRIMACK

Town Hall will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Town Hall closes at noon Dec. 24. Library closes at 1 p.m. Dec. 24, and at 5 p.m. Dec. 31.

MILFORD

All municipal offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, and on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, including Town Hall offices, the Transfer Station and the Wadleigh Memorial Library.

MONT VERNON

The town clerk’s office is closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Town Hall is open on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve until noon and closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

The Daland Library is closed on Dec. 26, as well as Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

The town transfer station will be closed on Christmas and New Years days.

WILTON

Town offices will close at noon Dec. 24, and be closed Dec. 25. Offices will close at 3 p.m. Dec. 31, and closed Jan. 1. The Board of Selectmen will meet at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The recycling center will be closed on Christmas and New Years days.
