Steven Tyler spotted at Nashua store

By Staff | Sep 12, 2011

NASHUA – Ever wonder where Steven Tyler shops?

On Wednesday, the Aerosmith vocalist found a coat to his liking at – where else? – Burlington Coat Factory at the Nashua Mall.

Customers posed for photos with the singer and “American Idol” judge. Tyler eventually bought a men’s coat.

Tyler’s shopping trip created the same sort of buzz and excitement that Danny DeVito’s appearance at the nearby state liquor store did in 2009, according to Steve Griebel, a store manager at Burlington Coat Factory.

“He’s not the first celebrity we’ve had, and he won’t be the last,” Griebel said Friday, although he didn’t reveal who the other celebrities were.

Tyler, as widely known, has New Hampshire roots and a connection to Nashua.

His family for years had helped run a summer resort in Sunapee, where in 1969 he met future Aerosmith bandmates Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton.

Tyler’s father, Victor Tallarico, lives in a senior community home in Nashua. His mother, Susan Ray Tallarico, died in 2008 after also living in Nashua with her husband.

Griebel said he wasn’t on duty Wednesday morning when Tyler stopped by the store, but he was told the singer’s visit electrified the atmosphere.
