NASHUA – The girl Steven Spader was dating in the weeks before the attack on Kimberly and Jaimie Cates is on the stand.

Jillian Baptist said Spader showed her the machete the next day, after he sold jewelry at the Pheasant Lane Mall, and joked that a spot of blood on the sheathe was from World War I.

Baptist said she was with Spader and Christopher Gribble when they sold jewelry they are accused of stealing from the Cates’ home.
