Woman accused of threatening boyfriend with knife

By Staff | Nov 2, 2010

NASHUA – A Rhode Island woman was arrested on felony charges Friday night after a domestic situation with her boyfriend in which she allegedly threatened him with a kitchen knife.

Jessica Abdalla, 23, of 6 Riata Drive, Lincoln, R.I., was charged with two counts of domestic violence criminal threatening, a Class B felony, and two counts of domestic violence simple assault, a misdemeanor.

Lt. Jeffrey Bukunt said Abdalla used what “would be best described as a steak knife” to threaten her boyfriend, a resident of Nashua, while she was visiting him this weekend.

Police responded to a city home at about 10:42 p.m. Friday and placed Abdalla under arrest. Bukunt said officers conducted an investigation and found that Abdalla had also threatened her boyfriend in a similar situation Oct. 23. The charges reflect the first assault as well, Bukunt said.

Abdalla could face up to seven years in prison for the felony charges and an additional year for the misdemeanor assault. She was held on $2,000 cash or surety bail and will soon be scheduled for an arraignment at Nashua District Court.
