Shaheen celebrates one-year of Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act
U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act being signed into law by President Biden:
“One year ago today, President Biden signed into law a historic bill–led by Democrats in Congress–that is actively working to lower costs for Americans and improve our environment. I’m particularly proud of the provision I helped lead to limit out-of-pocket costs on insulin to just $35 per month for those on Medicare,” said Shaheen. “While the Inflation Reduction Act was a huge step in the right direction, our work is not done. To truly make a difference in the lives of patients struggling to afford this life-saving medication, we should immediately take up and pass my bipartisan legislation, the INSULIN Act.”
The Inflation Reduction Act is making historic investments to extend key health care premium tax credits, lower the cost of prescription drugs, address the surging costs of insulin, combat climate change, prioritize sustainable energy efficiency solutions, level the playing field by making corporations pay their fair share in taxes and much more.
