CONCORD – NBA Hall of Famer Robert Parish knows a thing or two about winning, so it was only fitting the retired Boston Celtics legend was on hand Thursday evening to celebrate the three-year anniversary of sports betting in New Hampshire. “The Chief” rallied an already amped-up crowd at The Brook in Seabrook, where the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings marked dual milestones: the third anniversary of sports betting in New Hampshire and more than $2 billion taken in total wagers by New Hampshire players. Parish was joined by fans, dignitaries, and New England sports media personality Mike Mutnansky, who emceed the event.

“The excitement for sports betting in New Hampshire has been strong and steady since day one and we continue to drive momentum,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “Our players wagered more than $900 million over the past year alone and that speaks for itself. With March Madness in full swing, we believe we are well-positioned to build on our success.”

The Super Bowl saw New Hampshire players wager more than $9.2 million–beating last year’s Super Bowl betting record of $7.7 million for the most dollars wagered on a single event by New Hampshire players. The NCAA basketball tournament, which began earlier this month, has historically been the largest overall driver of sports betting in New Hampshire, with New Hampshire players wagering more than $23 million during last year’s tournament. Thursday night though, all eyes were on the Celtics as fans [in attendance] watched the game between the Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks and took part in a Q&A with Parish.

Since it launched in New Hampshire in late 2019, sports betting has generated nearly $71 million for public education in New Hampshire, quickly becoming one of the New Hampshire Lottery’s most successful product offerings.

“This is exactly what the New Hampshire Lottery was created for,” McIntyre continued. “Granite Staters can have a little fun, while the children in our state benefit. We are grateful to have a strong partner in DraftKings to help us realize this success and we are thankful Robert Parish could be here to celebrate with us.”

DraftKings administers sports betting on behalf of the New Hampshire Lottery via its mobile app, and at three retail sports betting locations: DraftKings Sportsbook at The Brook in Seabrook, and DraftKings Sportsbook at Filotimo in Manchester and in Dover.

Those located in New Hampshire can download the DraftKings Sportsbook app to place wagers through DraftKings. Sports fans can place bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at Sportsbook.DraftKings.com.
