MANCHESTER – U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01) issued the following statement following the U.S. Army’s announcement of a 10-year contract with New Hampshire company Sig Sauer, Inc., supporting the manufacturing of defense materials for the U.S. Army.

“This historic contract supports the innovative manufacturing happening at Sig Sauer and reaffirms the vital role Granite State companies play in our national security and defense,” said Congressman Pappas, “I remain committed to investing in domestic manufacturing right here in New Hampshire to expand jobs and bolster our security.”

Pappas recently announced that he was named to the bipartisan conference committee that will work to negotiate a final piece of legislation based on the House-passed America COMPETES Act and the Senate’s United States Innovation and Competition Act of 2021 (USICA) to make transformational new investments in research, innovation, and American manufacturing.

Pappas supported the America COMPETES Act and fought to pass the legislation in February which included several provisions introduced and co-led by Pappas to strengthen ‘Made in America’ provisions and support small manufacturers and rural businesses.
