U.S. Rep Annie Kuster

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, released the following statement on the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine:

“Since receiving Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December – becoming the first COVID-19 vaccine available in the United States – hundreds of millions of doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the U.S., saving countless lives and preventing severe illness. This final approval from the FDA reflects what we have seen over the past eight months: vaccines are safe, effective, and key to ending this pandemic and getting our lives back to normal.

“As the dangerous Delta variant continues to spread throughout New Hampshire and across the country, getting vaccinated for COVID-19 is more important than ever. The vaccine is the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. It is my hope that those who have been hesitant to take the vaccine will be further reassured by the FDA’s announcement today and make their way to one of the many vaccine sites in the Granite State.”

As COVID-19 cases are on the rise in New Hampshire and across the country, it is critical that as many people as possible receive the vaccine. In the Granite State, everyone 12 years and older is eligible to receive their shot. Learn more: www.vaccines.nh.gov.
