By Staff | May 6, 2021

CONCORD – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Energy Subcommittee, participated in Dartmouth College’s “Investing in our Energy Futures” virtual conference and discussed her work advancing clean energy policies.

“We are at a critical moment for our nation’s energy future, and we have the opportunity to take bold, transformative steps forward to create a more resilient, more sustainable grid,” said Rep. Kuster. “That’s what I’m working towards in Congress as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Energy Subcommittee and Agriculture Committee — just today I participated in a hearing about making Electric Vehicles more accessible and more sustainable for rural communities in New Hampshire and across the country.”

“It was great to join this conversation today and talk with experts about steps we can take in the public and private sectors to ensure we are investing in our nation’s energy infrastructure to be competitive for generations to come,” Rep. Kuster continued. “Through innovative legislative solutions and pioneering public-private partnerships, we are building the framework necessary to bolster energy production, create good-paying jobs, and save our planet.”

The panel was hosted by former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Norman Bay.

Other panelists included:

Tobias Schmidt

Head, Energy Politics Group, ETH Zurich

Phil Giudice

Biden Administration’s Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy

Marsden Hanna

Head, Sustainability and Climate Policy, Google

A member of the House Energy and Commerce Energy Subcommittee and House Agriculture Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee, Kuster is a leader in Congress to combat climate change, preserve the environment, and create a clean energy economy. Earlier this year, Kuster led 39 colleagues in sending a letter to the Biden administration urging the inclusion of funding to retrofit, rehabilitate, and remove dams in the next infrastructure package to improve public safety, increase free-flowing rivers, expand low-carbon generation, and create jobs.
