Sununu vetoes renewable energy legislation

By Staff | Jul 25, 2020

CONCORD – Today, Governor Sununu vetoed SB 124, a bill relative to the minimum electric renewable portfolio standards.

Vice Chair of Senate Energy and Natural Resources and co-sponsor of SB 124, Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes (D-Concord) issued the following statement in response:

“New Hampshire has among the highest energy bills in the nation because of Governor Sununu’s vetoes of renewable energy and energy efficiency legislation. We were also the only state in New England to lose solar jobs last year, because of Governor Sununu’s vetoes. Our Renewable Portfolio Standard flatlines in year 2025, and Governor Sununu vetoing SB 124 is telling everyone New Hampshire is closed for clean energy, which is especially problematic when New Hampshire’s economy has been so heavily hit by COVID-19.”
