N.H. School Administrators Association host annual conference

By Staff | Jun 30, 2022

CONCORD – The New Hampshire School Administrators Association wishes to share the success of its 2022 Annual Conference on Educational Leadership and 81st Business Meeting.

About 100 administrators from across the Granite State attended the Conference on June 27-29 at the Grand Mountain View Resort in Whitefield.

Presenters throughout the Conference offered their expertise on a number of educational issues, including teacher and staff retention, leadership, state standards, working with families in crisis, equity, and internal investigations.

Paul Imhoff, former Superintendent of the Upper Arlington, Ohio, Schools, delivered a Keynote Address, asking school leaders to focus on the social and emotional health of their communities, and themselves.

Musician Alex Boyé also delivered a Keynote Address. Boyé is the official ambassador for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and has performed on “America’s Got Talent.” He spoke about his life as a teen on the streets of London, and how affirmation and music healed him at the lowest moment of his life.

Monadnock Regional School District Superintendent Lisa A. Witte, selected as the 2022 Superintendent of the Year, addressed the gathering as Distinguished Lecturer. Superintendent Witte spoke about her core values of passion, integrity, and empathy.

Gov. Chris Sununu provided an overview of a number of important issues facing the State, including housing, local control, and drug misuse.

During the Business Meeting, superintendents and other administrators received updates on the organization, state and federal proposals and policies, and on litigation against the State of New Hampshire on equitable funding for public school students.

Outgoing Executive Board President James Morse, Superintendent of SAU 85 in Oyster River, said that beyond the professional development, the Conference gave attendees the opportunity to laugh – often – after two-plus years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Members also welcomed the 2022-2023 Executive Board: President Russell Holden, Superintendent of SAU 85 in Sunapee; President-Elect Esther Asbell, Associate Superintendent of SAU 16 in Exeter; and Vice President Ronna HasBrouck, Superintendent of SAU 58 in Groveton.
